Dunelm Careers Site Helps Candidates ‘Find Your Happy Place’
The ever-changing candidate market and shift in the retail landscape following Covid has meant that Dunelm continues to adapt. The careers site was revisited in line with the employer value proposition and framework to position it for the relevant talent audiences. Read how they approached it.
“In working with partners Eploy and Blackbridge Communications, the new careers site now tells the story of our employer brand, Find Your Happy Place, our values and purpose, our business areas, expanding Tech, Digital and Data teams, as well as Retail and Warehouse & Delivery, and of our people and their individual stories. It incorporates dynamic job adverts, bringing personalised information to the candidate, rather than them having to look around to find it. Lastly, we share our approach to hybrid working and flexibility and our commitment to wellbeing, belonging, charity and community.''

As part of the initial implementation, the Dunelm careers site was designed to deliver a great online candidate experience aligned with the target audience and roles. The careers site was fully integrated into Eploy’s ATS and Recruitment CRM to reduce administration and provide a stellar candidate experience a seamless experience.
Bringing in the changes
Since that time, Dunelm has transformed its business and remains fully committed to growing with purpose.
The ever-changing candidate market and shift in the retail landscape following Covid has meant that Dunelm continues to adapt. Colleagues required across the Dunelm business operations has evolved, as has the skill requirement for some roles. The careers site was revisited in line with the employer value proposition and framework to position it for the relevant talent audiences.
Commenting on the careers site launch, Olivia Williams, Employer Brand Manager at Dunelm said, “When Eploy was first implemented, the careers site was created as a separate entity to the consumer and corporate sites to show the Dunelm personality and authentic story of a career at a retailer that guides the candidate through the experience.
“We knew that the careers site needed a facelift - we had so much more to say and had grown a lot as a business since it was last updated. We wanted to refresh the careers site with something that candidates and our colleagues could get excited about.
Lastly, we share our approach to hybrid working and flexibility and our commitment to wellbeing, belonging, charity and community.
“We now have a careers site that is exciting, engaging, and ultimately, feels like us. We can continually make changes to the careers site content which is so powerful as we continue to evolve”.
A fresh approach
Dunelm worked with Eploy to remap the careers site and bring it in line with the Dunelm brand and values to demonstrate the culture of what it is like to work there.
The changes engage with the diverse audience that Dunelm wants to attract and resonate with through the updated candidate-centric content, including how to apply, what we offer, colleague networks, application process, hints and tips and FAQ’S. Not only does this give the candidate a more enriched experience but reduces the time the recruitment team spend answering candidate queries.
