Wren Kitchens have experienced considerable growth over the years and wanted to bring their recruitment journey and candidate experience in line to showcase Wren as a great place to work.
Their strategy was to create the perfect recruitment journey – for the candidate, the recruitment team and hiring managers across the full recruitment journey. They needed to review their outdated tools and practices and automate activity to support growth plans and deliver a seamless candidate experience.
What does it take to deliver a seamless candidate experience?
The Wren recruitment team flipped issues on their head to scope out their project. What would a seamless candidate experience require? Mobile responsive accessibility for sure, an intuitive self-service experience with a dedicated candidate area for searching and applying for roles through to application to managing their profiles too. The underpinning element was to have one system across the business to manage shortlisting and interviews, manage candidate communications about their application's progress. An automated online onboarding process using automatic reference collection, offer management, and digital contract signing.
They had a deep delve at everything from application forms, requisition & authorisation process, job specifications, workflows & document templates to create the perfect recruitment journey – all with the Wren Brand and company values at the heart of it. Not only that, they looked at how this filtered through to the Hiring Manager and Candidate Experience with flexible recruitment workflows for each business area.

There is better engagement across teams, the candidate journey is slick and represents the Wren brand, and the careers site/portal was a significant step forwards to achieving this.
Wren Kitchens now know where their best hires come from, which sources create the most applications and can focus their efforts on attracting and retaining the best talent. No longer are they reliant on spreadsheets, they now have live dashboards configured to their business and KPI's.
