Following the Restore Resourcing Function being decentralised, the Resourcing Team looked at its recruitment technology capability and how this delivered against candidate and stakeholder expectations. The team had been working with an in-house recruitment system that was highly bespoke but outdated in functionality and capability. Hiring Managers lacked visibility after raising a requisition until later in the process and reporting was basic, lacked detail and wasn’t real-time data.

There was potential to uplift how recruitment was handled which resulted in a rigorous evaluation process of the Applicant Tracking System (ATS) market.

After a thorough procurement process to find the best vendor for its needs, Restore chose Eploy as its go-to Applicant Tracking System supplier to streamline the recruitment process and improve the user experience for all stakeholders.

When evaluating suppliers, Restore ensured that all stakeholders were represented in the supplier demonstrations. This included the Recruitment Team, Heads of People, members of the People Service Team whose focus was onboarding, and members of the Hiring Manager community.

Andy Long, Head of Resourcing at Restore who led the TA Transformation Project alongside Sarah Catterall, People & Performance Manager, created an engaging comms programme to share updates on the project throughout. Alongside the Eploy Implementation Team, the Project Team worked collaboratively to develop complex authorisation workflows aligned to the various businesses.

Commenting on the implementation, Andy Long at Restore said, “Although many ATS appear to do similar things on the surface, once you dig a little deeper you realise how much there is to support choosing a future-proof solution which can develop along with the business changes. The candidate journey is also a consideration and how candidates are engaged from visiting our careers site to onboarding.

“If your hiring managers aren’t convinced of the chosen solution, as a business you won’t be able to get the project off the ground, so our hiring managers played an important part to embed the solution.

“The partnership we developed with Eploy was fundamental to delivering a successful project. We gained a great deal of clarity as we navigated moving parts and changes to the business structure. Eploy’s Implementation Manager was responsive and supportive throughout and went above and beyond to make the implementation process seamless.”
